Every Sunday evening we review all of the public meetings scheduled for the week so we can prepare for them. This Sunday we saw that a Plymouth Township Council meeting was scheduled for Monday, July 11th, but that an agenda had not been posted to the township’s website as required by a 2021 update to Pennsylvania’s Sunshine Act. The law now requires that the agenda be posted 24 hours prior to the start of the meeting.

When we noticed the issue on Sunday evening, we emailed the members of the council and inquired as to whether they planned to reschedule the meeting. We did not receive a reply (which is typical of Plymouth’s council).

This afternoon the township did post a notice from the township manager that stated that the meeting and a hearing were being rescheduled due to the issue with the agenda. Below is the text of the notice:

The Hearing and Meeting originally scheduled for 6 p.m. tonight have been moved to Monday, August 1st at 7 p.m.

The Regular Council Meeting for tonight, will be convened and then immediately continued to Wednesday, July 13th at 7 p.m. There will be no voting, discussions or actions taking place tonight, July 11th.

These changes were necessitated by an unintentional omission in the process of posting the agenda. I deeply regret any inconvenience.

This is at least the third time an inquiry from MoreThanTheCurve.com about unposted agendas has resulted in meetings being rescheduled. The other two were in the Borough of Conshohocken and Borough of Ambler.
