Plymouth Township’s council DOES allow public comment during workshop meetings

This is a strange one. In the Facebook comments of a MoreThanTheCurve.com article about an August 4th presentation involving a potential redevelopment of the Conshohocken Ridge Corporation Center with a grocery store and apartments, Plymouth Township Council President Karen Bramblett stated that public comment wasn’t permitted during the public meeting.

Why is that strange? The agenda for the meeting (view) clearly states that public comment is allowed, and if you look back at past agendas, they all state the same.

A council workshop meeting is when the agenda items are to be discussed among the council members, and votes aren’t taken. Plymouth Township holds these meetings on the first Monday of each month. The council then holds a meeting on the second Monday, during which the council votes on items.

We sought comment from Bramblet and other members of the council on this, and it was, of course, ignored. Township Manager Matt West did respond and offered that “Council will be allowing public comment during workshop meetings.”
