Plymouth Whitemarsh High School’s Emma Manley receives appointment to U.S. Air Force Academy

Plymouth Whitemarsh High School senior Emma Manley has been appointed to the U.S. Air Force Academy in Colorado Springs. Manley will join the track, cross country, and marathon teams at the academy while pursuing a degree in biology.

During her four years at Plymouth Whitemarsh, Manley was the captain of the girls cross country team for two years and the captain of the track team for one year. She holds a personal record of 24:38 minutes in cross country and of 2:56 minutes in the 800-meter race for track. She was awarded the Sportsmanship Award in 2021 for cross country,

“Being a runner gave me the ability to push myself both mentally and physically to become a better student, athlete, and person,” said Manley

While not running, Manley was the president of the Best Buddies Club, vice president of the National Honor Society, and a student representative to the Colonial School District Board of Directors.
