Plymouth Whitemarsh High School’s Odyssey of the Mind team has qualified for world finals, but needs financial help to travel to competition

Plymouth Whitemarsh High School’s Odyssey of the Mind Classics team recently placed second in the Pennsylvania state finals earning the team a spot to compete in the 2024 World Finals at Iowa State University from May 21-25.

The team is trying to raise funds to make the trip to Iowa. You can make a donation to the team here. Donations will help pay for travel, room and board, and competition costs for the seven member team and two coaches. The team is responsible for most of the money required to make the trip, so every little bit can help.

What is Odyssey of the Mind? Odyssey of the Mind is a creative problem-solving competition. Teams of students work together, applying their skills and imaginations to develop and present solutions to problems that can range from building mechanical structures and vehicles to re-imagining literary classics.

This year, the students re-established Odyssey of the Mind as an official club at Plymouth Whitemarsh and took on the responsibility of running afterschool practices following the retirement of the team’s previous advisor. They spent hundreds of hours preparing for the competition and now need help competing on Odyssey of the Mind’s biggest stage.
