A reader sent MoreThanTheCurve.com an image of an alert sent out by the Spot Crime alert system, reporting a “shooting” on February 1st at 2:35 a.m. at Turf Lane/Colwell Lane in Conshohocken (Plymouth Township). That alert was pulled from the Montgomery County police CAD (computer-aided dispatch) system.
According to the Plymouth Township Police Department, there wasn’t a shooting and police are investigating a suspected swatting incident.
Swatting is the false reporting of an emergency, usually involving a report of violence, with the intent of generating a SWAT team response from police to an unsuspecting home or another location.
