Montco native Robyn Rhindress (She/They) is launching the Mothership Art Market in the plaza at Hotel West & Main on Saturday, August 29th, from 2:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. The market is a one-day celebration of local makers and artists, with a spotlight on queer and underrepresented creators. Attendees can expect original, handmade work in painting, wearable art, prints, and jewelry, plus drinks available for purchase at the bar just off the plaza at Hotel West & Main’s 1874 Social. The rain date is September 26th.
Rhindress launched The Mothership Collective, a queer-centered arts and events organization based in Montgomery County, to amplify culture and promote self-expression. The goal is for the Collective to create events where LGBTQ+ folks, artists, and anyone who’s ever felt like they didn’t quite fit get to take up space, connect, and be celebrated.

Recognizing that much of the queer culture and creative community is found in the city, leaving people in the suburbs to commute for connection or simply go without, Rhindress launched the Mothership to create a suburban home base where the affirming, creative community can take root. It’s a vision Rhindress has carried since childhood: a real home for people on the margins, starting with events and growing toward something lasting.
