There is a renewed effort to fill the vacant restaurant spaces at the Plymouth Meeting Mall. All of the spaces are on the outside of the mall and include a former Bertucci’s, Space Smash, King Buffet, Zoup, Chipotle, and Real Fruit Bubble Tea.
PREIT, which owns most of the mall property, has tasked CBRE with securing tenants for what is being marketed as The Plaza Shops at Plymouth Meeting Mall. We had never heard the “Plaza Shops” branding before. However, research found that it dates back to at least 2009, when the shops attached to Whole Foods Market were constructed. The name has been rarely used, and a Google search only generates a handful of results. The new marketing push refers to the Whole Foods Market side of the mall as the South Plaza and the Hickory Road side of the mall as the North Plaza. You can find the full sales brochure from CBRE here.
This effort comes as the long vacant office building attached to the mall is being converted into apartments, and another apartment building is proposed for the property.
Five of the available spaces are on the North Plaza. Open restaurants on that side of the mall include Red Stone, California Pizza Kitchen, Dave & Buster’s, and PF Chang’s, with Chipotle and Cava on outparcels. On the South Plaza, there is one available restaurant space, and currently open restaurants in that section are Miller’s Ale House and Whole Foods Market, with Shake Shack and Honeygrow on outparcels.
