Restaurant group seeks approval for liquor license transfer to former Mexican restaurant space in Fort Washington

On the agenda (view, pg. 444) for the November 13th meeting of the Whitemarsh Township board of supervisors is a motion to consider authorizing the advertisement of a public hearing on an application to transfer a liquor license from the Borough of West Conshohocken to 424 South Bethlehem Pike in Fort Washington (Whitemarsh Township). The Fort Washington space was once the home to Cantina Feliz, which moved to downtown Ambler in 2024.

The applicant is Fine Line Fort Washington, LLC, an entity associated with Fine Line Dining, which is owned by Michael Sloane. Fine Line Dining currently owns and operates Jasper’s Backyard in Conshohocken and The Fort in Fort Washington, and has recently acquired Dettera in Ambler.

The liquor license involved was the license for Westside Bar & Grille in West Conshohocken, which was owned by Sloane and closed in 2024. Westside replaced the long-running Baggataway Tavern, which itself replaced Cunningham’s Court.

According to the documents included with the agenda, Sloane is planning to “operate a high end/fine dining seafood, steak, and pasta restaurant” at the South Bethlehem building. No timing on an opening was offered.

If the supervisors vote to advertise a hearing, Sloane has asked that the hearing be held during the board of supervisors meeting on December 11th.

The hearing is necessary since Fine Line Dining is seeking to transfer the license from one municipality to another. If the supervisors vote their approval, it will then undergo a transfer process with the Pennsylvania Liquor Control Board.
