Schuylkill River expected to flood riverfront

While it is really nice out right now, the impact of today’s storm is still an issue. The Borough of Conshohocken sent a notice this evening that it is evacuating vehicles along the riverfront in anticipation of the Schuylkill River flooding the area overnight.

The above video is from JP Boles of Baggataway Tavern. He shot the video at 1:15 p.m. today from the West Conshy side of the Schuylkill River.

Below is the notice from the Borough of Conshohocken:

Due to current flooding conditions, we are now evacuating vehicles along the Conshohocken Riverbank. These areas include Riverwalk, Londonbury, The Marriott and Septa Parking Lot. The Schuylkill River is anticipated to rise 8 feet above flood elevation. Please be advised, Flood Watch Warnings are still in effect for our area throughout the evening until 2 am.

If you are in transit, avoid streets that are under water or barricaded.

We will continue to monitor the flood watch and provide updates as available.
