A song titled “Conshy Girls” by a band named Lackey popped up in our YouTube.com feed recently. We like it, but we weren’t sure whether “Conshy” was referring to Conshohocken or to the British slang for “conscientious”. The song can be found on Lackey’s 10 Big Ones album.
We connected with the band on Instagram and learned that Conshohocken is mentioned in the song with its full name. The band is described as “synth punk” and the song has a distorted sound, so once we listened more closely we heard it.
The band shared that while they are based in Los Angeles, the drummer, Nate Andre, is from Wilkes-Barre, and that they had come through the area and had a great time. During the tour, the drummer shared that he had an old friend who called her group of girlfriends the “Conshy Girls” which resulted in a song.
