St. Mary Polish American Society holding a prayer service at 5:30 p.m. tonight in response to the desecration of local cemeteries

The St. Mary Polish American Society is holding a prayer service on Thursday, February 24th at 5:30 p.m. at St. Benedict Cemetery off Colwell Lane in Conshohocken in response to the recent vandalism of three Roman Catholic cemeteries. St. Benedict Cemetery is the resting spot for many in the local Polish community.

The three cemeteries were spray-painted with swastikas and other graffiti. Police were alerted to the graffiti just after 7:00 a.m. this morning and there is an ongoing investigation.

The society shared the following when announcing the prayer service:

We realize this is short notice, but time is of the essence and it is essential to send an unmistakable signal to those who perpetrated these acts that such behavior cannot ever be tolerated. We pray for the vandals that their hearts and souls may be touched and that they turn away from their path of hatred.
