Stenton Avenue Closure Now Happening “Around the Clock”

Yesterday, MoreThanTheCurve.com published a notice from PennDOT that announced the closure of a portion of Stenton Avenue that was scheduled to occur from Monday through Friday from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. starting July 19th.

This morning PennDOT sent out an updated notice stating that the closure is actually all day, every day, starting July 19th. Below is the new notice:

Whitemarsh Township is planning to close Stenton Avenue between Flourtown Road and Mill Road in Whitemarsh Township, Montgomery County beginning Friday, July 19, through late August, for roadway and drainage construction, the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) announced today.

During this around the clock closure, Stenton Avenue motorists will be directed to use Flourtown Road, Thomas Road, Germantown Pike and Northwestern Avenue. Local access will be maintained up to the construction zone. Motorists are advised to allow extra time when traveling near the work area because backups and delays will occur.
