The Plymouth Township Police Department reports that it responded to the former steel plant at 900 Conshohocken Road in Conshohocken (Plymouth Township) just before 9:30 a.m. on July 17th, following a report of people inside seeking scrap metal. Since the plant’s closure in 2025, police have arrested several individuals following a series of calls.
In this latest incident, a suspect evaded capture by fleeing the plant and crossing the Schuylkill River to the West Conshohocken/Upper Merion side. This incident remains under investigation, and police are seeking to identify multiple people suspected of burglarizing and trespassing on the property. Fire and EMS were called to the scene during the incident for a water rescue.

Police stressed that the former steel plant is not public property, is secured by a locked perimeter fence, and has on-duty security staff. Anyone found inside the fence will be prosecuted.
Anyone with information on the individuals involved in this incident, or with knowledge of anyone else who may be committing criminal acts on the former steel plant property, is encouraged to call the Plymouth Township Police Department at 610-279-1901.
