The cancellation of 4th of July Parade in Whitemarsh becomes a regional story

The recent decision by the Whitemarsh Township Board of Supervisors to cancel the annual 4th of July Parade became a regional story today as 6ABC Action News and publications such as Philadelphia magazine (article), PhillyVoice, and Patch (article) reported on it. We suspect there will be more.

One update from MoreThanTheCurve.com. As we previously reported, we emailed members of township boards to find out if we missed anything in our review of available public records regarding the parade and the possibility of its cancellation being discussed in meetings over the past year.

Thomas Manley, a member of the township’s park and recreation board, responded to our inquiry and shared that the issue had never been discussed or considered by the board, which oversees the parade.

Update, it was also discussed on the Kayal and Company morning show on 1210 WPHT AM. They really didn’t prepare themselves to discuss the topic intelligently. It was painful to listen to.
