The Friends of the William Jeanes Memorial Library made a year-end gift of $10,000 to the library

The Friends of the William Jeanes Memorial Library recently presented a special, one-time, year-end gift of $10,000 to the board of the William Jeanes Memorial Library & Nicholas and Athena Karabots Center for Learning in Lafayette Hill.

The Friends of the William Jeanes Memorial Library was established in 1950 as an all-volunteer organization, separate from the library. Since that time, the organization has worked to supplement the funding of the library.

Donations received through an annual membership drive and proceeds from its used book sales have enabled the organization to support the library in the following ways:

  • augmented the purchase of new technology, books, and other media
  • sponsored adult, teen, and children’s programs
  • provided funding for the purchase of a variety of annual passes for local cultural institutions
  • contributed as a major donor to the building renovation and expansion, and responded to special funding requests as they continue to arise.

Details on how to join the Friends of the Library can be found here.
