The current trend with restaurants is to make them have as much outdoor space/access as possible.  Two nearby examples will be the rehabbed Brittingham’s in Lafayette Hill and the Bryn & Danes location slated to open in Plymouth Meeting.

The Great American Pub has great outdoor space, but it is enhancing it by putting in sliding doors along East 2nd Avenue.  This will open up the 2nd floor dining/bar space to east 2nd Avenue and create a great ambiance within that space on nice days.  In the above photo, you can see where the outline is taped.  Expect construction to begin soon.
