During a press conference today Montgomery County officials announced that since May 2nd there have been 97 new cases on Sunday and 88 new cases on Monday of Coronavirus in the county. Sixty-four of the 185 cases are residents of a long-term care facility and residents of Montgomery County. The total case total for Montgomery County is now 4,570.

There have now been three consecutive days with less than 100 positive cases. On May 2nd 76 cases were reported followed by 97 on May 3rd and 88 on May 4th.

County officials also announced that eight individuals have been reported to have died due to Coronavirus since May 2nd. That brings the countywide total to 314. The total probable death total is 156. Probable deaths are not confirmed by a lab test.

Locally the numbers are as follows:

• Conshohocken is at 29 cases, which hasn’t changed since May 2nd
  • There have been zero deaths overall in Conshohocken
• Whitemarsh is at 115 cases, which hasn’t changed since May 2nd
  • There have been 10 deaths overall in Whitemarsh
• Plymouth is at 84 cases, which is four more than on May 2nd
  • There have been three deaths overall in Plymouth
• West Conshohocken has four cases, which is the same as yesterday
  • There have been zero deaths in West Conshohocken

In regards to long-term care facilities in the county, 1,175 residents of these facilities have tested positive and 520 staff members have done so. These numbers are self-reported and not all residents and staff members officially reside in the county.

In regards to testing. from April 16th through May 1st, 3,266 tests have been administered at the county testing sites. It has received the results for 3,117 and 466 people have tested positive. The rate of positive results continues to be approximately 15%.
