The Plymouth Township Police Department has announced that two officers were injured during an October 21st arrest along the 2000 block of Chemical Road in Plymouth Meeting (Plymouth Township). Police responded to the area at 4:54 p.m. after receiving a report that 42-year-old Dallas Whitt Anderson James of Philadelphia was violating a protection from abuse order. According to police, a female victim reported Anderson-James “was repeatedly contacting her despite a valid protection from abuse order.” Police were able to confirm the communications and contacted Anderson-James to notify him that “he was in violation of the valid protection from abuse order.” He was then advised that an arrest warrant was pending and that he was to not go near the 2000 block of Chemical Road.
Approximately two hours later on the same day, the Plymouth Township Police Department responded to the same area as the victim alerted police that Anderson Hames was on foot in the area. Police were able to locate Anderson-James on the Montgomery County Cross County Trail in front of The Metroplex. According to police, Anderson-James “refused orders to stop and remove his hand from his pocket.”
Officers then attempted to take him into custody on the arrest warrant for the PFA violation; however, Anderson-James struggled with officers, and he was able to get possession of an officer’s taser, and then, according to police, “grabbed hold of the grip of an Officer’s service pistol, attempting to remove the firearm from the officer’s holster.” The officer was able to secure his holster and firearm. After struggling some more, Anderson-Hames was then placed in handcuffs.
One of the two injured officers was treated and released; the second was released from the hospital but is still recovering from an arm injury.
Anderson-James has been charged with multiple felonies and misdemeanors associated with both the PFA violations and the altercation with police. Charges include two counts of Disarming a Law Enforcement Officer, which is a third-degree felony.
Anderson-James was arraigned on October 22nd by Magisterial District Judge Patrick O. Krouse. Bail was set at $100,000 for the charges involving the attempt to disarm and $20,000 for the two PFA violations. He could not post bail and is confined at the Montgomery County Prison.
A preliminary hearing on the aggravated assault and disarming a law enforcement officer charges is scheduled for Tuesday, November 10, 2026, at 9:30 a.m., before the Magisterial District Judge Jodi Griffis.
