Update – Bear spotted running through the Plymouth Meeting Mall parking lot

Our sister site AroundAmbler.com reported on a bear that was captured on video overnight at the Saint Helena School in Blue Bell. The Plymouth Township Police Department now has issued a notice that it received a report of a bear running through the parking lot of the Plymouth Meeting Mall.

The Plymouth Township Police Department received a report of a black bear running through the parking lot of the Plymouth Meeting Mall (Near Edge Fitness & Whole Foods) at around 4:00am this morning. The bear was last seen running southeast through the parking lot toward the Pennsylvania Turnpike. Officers checked the area but were unable to locate the bear.

The Pennsylvania Game Commission has been notified and will be in the area searching for the bear.

As with all wild animals, if seen, residents are encouraged to keep a safe distance, do not approach the bear, and call 911.

According to a notice from the Whitpain Township Police Department, the bear has been spotted thus far in Worcester and East Norriton townships and its last known location in Whitpain was in the area of Hoover Road and Perri Place.
