MoreThanTheCurve.com spoke to a representative of PennDOT today to get an update on the Lafayette Street Interchange, which will bring ramps on and off the Pennsylvania Turnpike in Plymouth Meeting (Plymouth Township). The exact location is near the area of the Wawa on Ridge Pike near Conshohocken Road.
The Layette Street Interchange is the final phase of the Lafayette Street Extension Project, which opened Lafayette Street from Conshohocken Road (just behind the Wawa) to downtown Norristown.
The interchange portion is now waiting for Montgomery County’s Ridge Pike Improvement Project to be completed in the area and obtaining easements.
The construction of the interchange is scheduled to start in 2028 with a completion date/opening in 2030.
