Video of bear being released by the PA Game Commission

NBC10’s Aaron Baskerville tweeted out video from the PA Game Commission of the bear that recently roamed around the Blue Bell/Plymouth Meeting area. Once the bear was released, it darted into the woods and marked his or her territory at state game lands near Hershey.

Interestingly, it is bear season and according to an article in The Philadelphia Inquirer, the PA Game Commission tries not to tranquilize bears before they capture and release them this time of year. If a recently tranquilized bear is successfully hunted, the meat can not be consumed. The bear was trapped using doughnuts without the need for tranquilization.
