Wally’s in Conshohocken, Get the Latest Merch

For people of a certain age in Conshohocken, there is never a talk about about cheesesteaks without a mention of Wally’s. Wally’s, which was located at 300 East 6th Avenue was open for approximately 50 years, closing in ’94/’95. Montgomery County records show the property was sold in 1995 and has since been several apartments.

The spot was popular with pretty much the entire community. Documents we have come across point to it being a hot spot for the college kids from Montgomery County Community College and the blue collar workers living and working nearby.

In 1985, one of the initial developers of Conshohocken, Ray Weinmann, drove around Conshy and took and inventory of the some of the bars and restaurants. The photo on the right at the top of the article is from Weinmann. He wrote at the time that the place was so popular, he doubt it would be for sale.

The photo to the left, is from property records and we created some merch with it. If you loved Wally’s, below are some options to celebrate that memory. Please note, the artwork was created to look like it was pulled out of a scrapbook.
