WestSide Bar & Grill in West Conshohocken to close on August 31st

The WestSide Bar & Grill, located at 31 Front Street in West Conshohocken, will close its doors on August 31st according to Tim Foley, the restaurant’s general manager. The bar and restaurant opened in March 2023 following the sale of the building that was the long-running home of Baggataway Tavern and, prior to that, Cunningham’s Court.

The property and restaurant are owned by entities led by Michael Sloane and Chris Magarity, who also own and operate Jasper’s Backyard in Conshohocken. They also own the property and operated the restaurant Catch 101 in West Conshohocken, which is also closed. Across the river in Conshohocken, they own the property once home to Ashley’s Deli (before that Lenny’s) and a neighboring spa at 900 Fayette Street in Conshohocken.

In January 2024, Sloane, Magarity, and Plymouth Meeting-based Korman Properties appeared before West Conshohocken’s borough council to informally pitch a 289′, 25-story mixed-use building that would involve ground-floor retail, several floors of parking, 258 apartments, and a rooftop restaurant, at 31 Front Street and other properties Sloane and Magarity own along Front Street. This proposal has not been submitted to the borough.

In April 2024, it was announced that Sloane and Magarity were part of a group that secured Federal Donuts & Chicken’s franchise rights for the Philadelphia region. One of the first locations will be at the Plymouth Square Shopping Center in Conshohocken (Plymouth Township). They are also preparing to open The Fort in Fort Washington (Upper Dublin) in late September, a restaurant similar to Jasper’s Backyard.

Foley shared that the closure will allow the restaurant group to focus on Jasper’s Backyard and opening The Fort. There are no immediate plans to redevelop the property.

WestSide Bar & Grill is open 11:30 a.m. to midnight through its final day of business on August 31st.
