There are going to be a bunch of new restaurants opening in 2023 in Conshohocken, West Conshohocken, Lafayette Hill, and Plymouth Meeting. Below is the rundown.
Conshohocken
Mezeh at the Whitemarsh Shopping Center has just opened softly and is holding a grand opening on January 4th.
Mochi Ring Donut, a Korean donut chain, is preparing to open at the corner of East 1st Avenue and Fayette Street in the former Jimmy John’s.
Merenda Box, the Brazilian bakery from the owner of ‘feine, is still preparing to open at 801 East Hector Street.
The Goats Beard, which has locations in Wayne and Manayunk, is going to open a third location at the Spring Mill Campus at 1100 East Hector Street.
There is an unnamed restaurant that received approval for a deck at the Old Mansion House property at 641 Old Elm Street. The propertier is Evan Lambert. We have not yet seen any work done to the property. According to Lambert, the restaurant will have 45 seats inside on the first floor (a 15 seat bar with 30 table seats), plus 40 more on the deck. It will serve regional Italian fare and have a brick oven for pizza.
For the past couple of years, there have been rampant rumors we have not been able to confirm involing a certain regional chain known for its fries that wanted to open within the Plymouth Square Shopping Center. However, it would have involved a sports book. That was either not true, or a decision was made to not move forward, or simply hasn’t happened yet. However, we now hear that another regional chain is considering the spot.
West Conshohocken
Catch 101 and West Side Bar & Grill, both from the owners of Jasper’s Backyard in Conshohocken, are preparing to open in early 2023. Catch 101 is located at 101 Ford Street in the building that was the longtime home of Stella Blu and then Jasper’s Westside. Westside Bar & Grill is located at 31 Front Street in the building that was home to Baggataway Tavern for 17 years and prior to that Cunningham’s Court.
The restaurant group is also opening a restaurant named The Fort at the site of a long closed Friendly’s on Pennsylvania Avenue in Fort Washington (Upper Dublin Township).
Plymouth Meeting
Construction has started on a standalone Chipolte along Germantown Pike at the Plymouth Meeting Mall. There is currently a location within the mall that will be closed once the new one opens.
Honeygrow is opening a location next to Shake Shack along the outer ring of the parking lot at the Plymouth Meeting Mall. It is fenced off, but nothing has been constructed as of yet.
Lafayette Hill
Café du Coeur had hoped to open in October of 2022, but has changed its projected opening to 2023. It will be located within the Shoppers World Shopping Center.
Where Restaurants Could Open in 2023
103 Fayette Street in Conshohocken – PokeOno just closed. Previously was home to El Limon and a pretzel place.
6 East 1st Avenue in Conshohocken – Snap Custom Pizza recently closed. Previously was a yougurt place.
15 Plymouth Road in Plymouth Meeting – The former Bryn & Dane’s/Foodi
