Officers of the Whitemarsh Township Police Department, who are tasked to the Montgomery County Detective Bureau’s Narcotics Enforcement Team, and a detective of the Montgomery County Detective Bureau, joined forces to investigate and conduct a sting operation on a suspected drug dealer.

According to the criminal complaint, the operation resulted after the investigation into an overdose death in Lafayette Hill. One of the bags of suspected heroin found at the scene was stamped “Walking Dead.”

The deceased’s phone was utilized to track communications involving purchasing drugs. Posing as the deceased, a suspected dealer, Christian Antonio Nunez of Philadelphia, was contacted and arrangements were made to meet for another purchase.

Once at the agreed to meeting spot (the strip mall/Wawa) at the corner of Joshua and Germantown Pikes in Lafayette Hill. Nunez parked in the front and was asked to walk around back to a specific car. While doing that, Nunez was briefly out of surveillance. Once he reached the car he was detained.

The police did not find any heroin in Nunez’s possession and believe he may have stashed it while he was briefly out of surveillance. He was asked to provide the location as a matter of public safety, but declined.

Nunez is charged with two felonies and one misdemeanor. The two felonies are the criminal use of a communication device and possession and intent to deliver a controlled substance. The misdemeanor is possession of drug paraphernalia.

Nunez is scheduled for a preliminary hearing on July 17.
