The Commonwealth Financing Authority, through the Local Share Account Program, has awarded $850,000 in state funding for infrastructure improvements in Whitemarsh Township and the surrounding community. The taxes paid by Pennsylvania casinos fund the Local Share Account Program.
The two grants for Whitemarsh are:
- $425,000 for the Hain Drive to Pine Tree Road Stormwater Pipe Rehabilitation Project, which will rehabilitate more than 1,500 linear feet of deteriorating stormwater piping. The project will reinforce aging infrastructure, reduce safety hazards, and avoid the need for more extensive repairs down the road.
- $425,000 for the Morris Road Pump Station Renovation and Upgrades, which will renovate and upgrade a critical wastewater pump station, including pump replacements, electrical and control system upgrades, and protective improvements to ensure long-term reliability and environmental protection.
The Commonwealth Financing Authority board is an independent state agency created to administer Pennsylvania’s economic development and infrastructure programs.
