As we mentioned yesterday, we emailed the three candidates for the Whitemarsh Township Board of Supervisors who are not incumbents to learn their position on the cancellation of the parade. We have received one response thus far.
Democrat Megan Griffin-Shelley offered the following statement to MoreThanTheCurve.com:
As a lifelong resident, I was disappointed to hear Whitemarsh’s 4th of July Parade was cancelled this year.
If I am fortunate enough to be elected to serve, one of my priorities will be to leverage my experience in constituent services to improve the township’s communications, transparency, and outreach.
If Whitemarsh is unable to execute the parade this year, I am hopeful the township will present an alternative way for our community to come together to celebrate July 4th.
More to come.
