During the August 13th meeting of the Whitematsh Township Board of Supervisors, the supervisors voted to advertise a proposed data center ordinance and set a hearing date of September 10th. The vote was four to zero, with one member, Vincent Manuele, was absent.

July 16th – Whitemarsh Township moving fast to establish regulations for data centers

West Conshohocken and Upper Merion have adopted similar ordinances that allow data centers by conditional use within heavy industrial districts. Norristown and Whitemarsh are on a similar timeline to adopt similar ordinances. Plymouth Township and Conshohocken have thus far chosen not to consider a data center ordinance.
