Cool Dog Gear, located at the Plymouth Meeting Mall, has introduced Work-Out Doggie Style (W.O.D.S.), a program to increase the human/dog bond and to enable humans to workout with their dog. The program was created by Cool Dog Gear founder, Sue Hepner, and Jan Cairone, a retired physical education teacher.

W.O.D.S is a 45-minute fitness program where dogs and their people engage in a fun, energetic class incorporating total body fitness for the human and mentally and physically challenges for the dog. Humans, with the assistance of their furry friend will complete an exercise circuit with varying degrees of difficulty and the pups will engage in fun activities similar to tasks presented in an agility course.

“We realize every dog and human are at different fitness levels which is why all workouts are customized to the human and dog,” shared Kelly Klusman, owner of Cool Dog Gear.

There is also a special program for puppies one year of age and under.  The BABY WODS program is a 45-minute socialization class. Puppies are engaged in structured play with other puppies where they are introduced to new activities and people.  The puppies are encouraged get over some of their phobias and fears while learning good puppy behaviors. A max of four dogs at a time can participate in Baby W.O.D.S.

Classes are held in the store located inside Plymouth Meeting Mall on the first floor next to Best Buy Mobile. Please enter mall at entrance 3 near Charming Charlie’s.
