Conshohocken’s Borough Council Ends Hearings for Hotel, Larger Office Buildings, Etc. Potential Vote Tonight on Setting Date to Approve or Deny

On the agenda for tonight’s (Wednesday, January 18th) meeting of Conshohocken’s Borough Council there is agenda item under Unfinished Business that states, “Consider a motion to authorize advertisement of the proposed SP-4 zoning ordinance.” Our spies tell us that this means Borough Council has decided to to not hold any additional hearing about the hotel, office buildings, etc, that are permitted within the proposed new zoning district (SP-4).  Tonight’s vote would be to advertise the fact that it will vote on whether to approve or deny the new zoning district on a future date. Borough Council could also decide to take no action.

We thought there would be at least a few more hearings. We can’t decide if this is a positive or negative sign for the project. It seems very abrupt.

The meeting will be held at 7:00 p.m. at Borough Hall at West 4th and Fayette Street.

More to come.
