Event – Summer SOLstice with Sol Yoga Studio

Celebrate the summer SOLstice with open arms and hearts by completing 108 sun salutations outside, accompanied by live music, with Sol Yoga Studio at Sutcliffe Park on Friday, June 21st from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.  The SOLstice kicks off the first day of summer and it’s the day of the year that has the longest period of daylight. Why 108? The number is very sacred in Hinduism and yoga. It connects the sun, the earth and the moon. It is also believed that there are 108 sacred places in the body.

All of Sol’s instructors will rotate teaching, each teaching ten sun salutations before the next instructor is up. It should take approximately 1.5-2 hours. If you have never done something like this, now is the time.  It is going to be a blast and you can go at your own pace!

After the yoga, join Sol Yoga Studio at Spamps for some mingling, snacking and relaxing.  There will be healthy, fruit filled, gluten free cocktails on special, so you don’t even have to feel guilty.  Sol recommends trying the SOLtini made with Skyy pure gluten free vodka, muddled fresh pineapple, and coconut water.

There will also be Spiked Scoops which are Spamps new alcohol infused water ice sure to please any sweet tooth, and perfect for a sweaty day.  Anthony from Scoops at 5th and Fayette Street will also be there promoting the new Sol Shake (think almond milk, bananas, delicious).
