Germantown Avenue Brewers Cartel – Brew Pub Crawl

Three local breweries have come together for a special event, the Germantown Avenue Brewers Cartel – Brew Pub Crawl, on Saturday, September 20th from noon to 5:00 p.m.. The brewers from Barren Hill Tavern & Brewery, Iron Hill Brewery Chestnut Hill and Earth – Bread + Brewery, each brewed a beer at one of the other participating breweries specifically for the event.

The brewers and the brews created for this event are:

Tom Baker
Brewer at Earth – Bread + Brewery
Brewed a beer at Barren Hill Tavern & Brewery
Biere de Garde with Sorrel and Arugula – Code Name Bottle Roquette
Biere de garde, but with the addition of local sorrell (to add an lemon element) and arugula(to add a pepper element) to beer. Not quite as strong as traditional bier de garde, and blonde in color.

Brewed a beer at Earth Bread + Brewery
Cherry Berliner Weisse – code name Jelly Donut – Brewed Berliner, with wild yeast cultures. sour cherries to be added post fermentation. base beer typical Berliner

Buckwheat Saison – Code Name Three Radicals
Amber saison, a little stronger that typical saison. and a bit more full bodied. Toasted buckwheat added to brew, and as well, 50 lbs of local buckwheat honey added at the end of boil.

During the event, shuttles will be offering continuous service between the three breweries. You can start your loop at any of the breweries. Ticket are $20.00 and can be purchased online.
