‘Feine is now offering iced coffee from Sweet Tree Artisan Roasters through a nitro system. What does a nitro system actually do? According to Sweet Tree’s website, “Nitrogen (often blended with CO2) is also used to pour certain stouts and English ales (think Guiness, Boddington’s, Old Speckled Hen…). It’s responsible for that characteristic smooth, low carbonation, and buttery body that you experience with draughts poured this way. It is also responsible for that beautiful “cascade effect” you see after the pour, millions of tiny gas bubbles seemingly tumbling down instead of up, as a beautifully thick and buttery head slowly forms and takes shape at the top.”
