SEPTA Train Hits Car on Tracks in Conshohocken

Randy Gyllenhaal of NBC10 was a witness last night when a SEPTA train hit a parked car on the tracks across from the Riverwalk Apartments. NBC10 reports:

The crash occurred shortly before midnight on the train tracks near the Riverwalk at Millennium Apartment Complex on Washington Street, according to NBC10’s Randy Gyllenhaal, who witnessed the accident as he was driving home.

Gyllenhaal told NBC10 the car was parked on the tracks when it was struck by a SEPTA train traveling westbound. “The car was on the tracks for whatever reason,” he said. “The train came through, hit the car and dragged it about 100 feet forward.”

According to Gyllenhaal, first responders on the scene shared that there were no major injuries.

As of 5:45 a.m., SEPTA’s website has an alert stating that “Shuttle bus service in effect between Conshohocken Station and Center City.”
