Colin Mash, a 22-year-old Conshohocken native and 2020 graduate of Plymouth Whitemarsh High School, is starring as Danny Zuko with Ocean City Theater Company and the Ocean City Pops’s production of Grease in Ocean City, NJ. The theater operates as a Summer Stock/Regional Non-Equity Company, producing three to five professional musicals a year and has a wonderful relationship with the Ocean City POPS Orchestra under the direction of Maestro William Scheible. Through this collaboration, summer audiences have the opportunity to see live Broadway style shows in America’s Greatest Family Resort. This City of Ocean City’s collaborative production of “Grease” features a cast selected through a professional audition process.
According to the Ocean City Theatre Company, the show is:
“Full of energy, charm, and fun, this musical follows the romance between “greaser” Danny and the sweet new girl in town, Sandy. “Shooby do wap” along with this iconic soundtrack of a generation. With a rollicking, rock ‘n’ roll book, music, and lyrics by Jim Jacobs and Warren Casey, the show features many recognizable hits like “Summer Nights,” “Greased Lightnin’,” and “We Go Together.” Additionally, several songs from the iconic movie including “You’re The One That I Want,””Sandy,” and “Hopelessly Devoted to You,” will be included with special arrangement by Robert Stigwood.”
Grease has completed one week of shows opening on Tuesday, August 6th and Mash now has one week of shows left this week starting Tuesday, August 13th. Tickets for “Grease” range from $25-30. Performances run August 13, 14, and 15 at 7:30 p.m. with a 2 p.m. matinee on August 15.
