Green Valley Country Club’s Andrew Cornish wins GALV Lehigh Valley/Reading Open

Andrew Cornish, a golf professional at Green Valley Country Club in Lafayette Hill (Whitemarsh Township) recently won the 2025 GALV Lehigh Valley/Reading Open by one stroke. Cornish claimed the title after leading the tournament with nine-under 63 after the first round at Berkleigh Golf Club in Fleetwood. The second round was canceled due to thunderstorms.

“Today really started out hot, holing out from 100 yards and then making two birdies. I wish we could have played more golf today, but it was still a good day,” said Cornish. He went on to thank the staff at Moselem Springs and Berkleigh Golf Club for making this event possible, as well as Green Valley, Titleist and his parents for all of the support.

Braden Shattuck of Rolling Green Golf Club finished just one shot behind Cornish. LuLu Country Club’s Trevor Bensel finished in third place at 7-under-par, followed by Laurel Creek Country Club’s Dave Quinn at 6-under-par, and Merion Golf Club’s Joanna Coe at 5-under.

In a press release, the PGA of America provided history of the tournament:

Earlier this year, Moselem Springs Golf Club, in collaboration with Berkleigh Golf Club, announced the return of the Reading Open, an iconic professional tournament that was a regular PGA Tour stop in the 1940s and 1950s, previously held at storied venues such as Berkshire Country Club and Reading Country Club. With past champions including legends like Sam Snead and Ben Hogan, the tournament is being reimagined for a new generation of PGA of America Golf Professionals, while honoring its prestigious roots.
