Plymouth Meeting’s Ken Lawrence re-elected chair of SEPTA’s board

Former Montgomery County Commissioner and Plymouth Meeting resident Ken Lawrence was unanimously re-elected on February 26th by the members of SEPTA’s board to serve another term as the board’s chair. Lawrence has served on SEPTA’s board since September 2011, served as the board’s vice chair from 2021 to 2024, and was first elected chair in 2024. He was the first African-American elevated to this position.

Lawrence previously served as a Montgomery County Commissioner for seven years and opted to not run for re-election in 2023. He is now the senior vice president of corporate affairs for Southeastern Pennsylvania at Highmark Blue Shield.
