If you follow what is happening around Montgomery County, you have likely read about a YMCA being closed in Pottstown. What does this have to do with the Conshohocken area? The corporate office of the YMCA regionally makes it home at 400 Fayette Street in Conshohocken.

Even with that connection, this story would normally catch our attention, but the group opposing the closure is considering holding a protest in Conshohocken at the YMCA’s office.

From the Times Herald:

Everything from seeking help from Philadelphia Eagles players to staging a protest outside the Philadelphia-Freedom Valley YMCA headquarters in Conshohocken is on the table as a growing crowd of community groups continue to work to prevent the closure of the YMCA next month.

UPDATE – A private investor came in and bought the property and it will now stay open.
