Brittingham’s in Lafayette Hill has announced that it is closing from Friday, March 13th through Friday, March 27th. This is the first restaurant we know of to announce that it is closing due to the Coronavirus.

In response to the Coronavirus, Yesterday Governor Wolf ordered community centers, schools, and gyms closed, along with other public gathering places, in Montgomery County. He did not mention restaurants and bars in his order but suggested that non-essential retail businesses close.

In recent days we have been struggling with the fact that over the next week thousands of people will be in and out of Brittingham’s for the Paddy’s season festivities. After listening to Governor Wolf’s message and working with officials in Montgomery County, we sadly feel it would be best to close Brittingham’s for the period of Friday March 13th through Friday March 27th. This was a very difficult decision for us, but we feel it is the right thing to do to protect our customers and staff. We will be reopening Saturday March 28th, and per many email and social media requests, we are diligently working to reschedule our Paddy’s Day celebration which has been a tradition in Whitemarsh Township for so many years.
