Borough of Conshohocken has purchased a vehicle for high-water rescues

During the recent flooding connected to the remnants of Hurricane Ida, a high-water rescue vehicle was used by first responders from Radnor to bring people from the Residence Inn by Marriot on the riverfront to outside the flood area. You can watch the video from this incident from 6ABC Action News below.

The Borough of Conshohocken has now purchased a similar vehicle to utilize for highwater rescues. The 1995 M1078 LMTV 3 1/2 ton standard wheelbase cargo truck with a Caterpillar diesel engine was purchased from Eastern Surplus & Equipment for $21,200. While the vehicle wasn’t built as a highwater rescue vehicle, the description on Eastern’s website states that the truck can be used for such purposes.
