Borough of Conshohocken opens two shelters and gives instructions on who should shelter-in-place

The Borough of Conshohocken has issued a notice on two shelter locations in the borough and instructions on sheltering-in-place in two areas of the borough that are prone to flooding (if choosing not to go to a shelter).

According to the notice, the current projections for flooding in Conshohocken anticipate the Schuylkill River cresting at 18 feet at 4:00 a.m.

If you wish to go to a shelter, call 911, and the police or fire department will be dispatched to advise you of which location to go to.

  • Community Center at the Fellowship House, located 515 Harry Street, Conshohocken, PA 19428
  • Borough Administration building, located at 400 Fayette Street, Conshohocken, PA 19428

Residents who remain in their homes along the below-listed areas are advised to shelter-in-place starting at 9:00 p.m. this evening:

  • Colwell Lane (this includes Evansway)
  • Washington Street (this includes Riverwalk and Londonbury apartment complexes and the Marriott)

In the notice, it advises those choosing to shelter-in-place that they should take immediate shelter where they are and stay in that location until all hazards have passed and your local authorities lift the shelter-in-place order. Use caution and avoid streets that are underwater, closed, or barricaded.

The Borough of Conshohocken advises residents to call 911 for all emergencies and/or flooding issues. Do not call the fire or police departments directly.

If you need assistance, you should call 911 to be directed properly by dispatch.
