Brian O’Neill Proposing “Life Sciences Mecca” in West Conshohocken and Upper Merion

Representatives of developer Brian O’Neill went before West Conshohocken’s Borough Council in February (minutes) to provide details on a redevelopment project it is working on called Innovation I-476.

The site, which has been a major GlaxoSmithKline campus, is 100 acres that spans Upper Merion (60 acres) and West Conshohocken (40 acres). GlaxoSmithKline is in the process of moving most of the employees and operations to another site and O’Neill is in the process of buying the land. O’Neill wants to transform the property into a “Life Sciences mecca” due to the attributes of the property and facilities and their proximity to colleges, universities and health systems.

Eventually O’Neill plans to seek zoning relief for the property from both municipalities. The full text of from the minutes is below:
