Conshohocken Beer Festival on April 6th agenda of Conshohocken’s Borough Council

The Conshohocken Plymouth Whitemarsh (CPW) Rotary has announced the future of the Conshohocken Beer Festival being held at A. A. Garthwaite Stadium in Conshohocken will be on the agenda of the April 6th meeting of Conshohocken’s Borough Council.

Below is the statement posted on the CPW Rotary’s social media:

We get a lot of questions about this event, so we figured we’d give you a peek behind the curtain. We’re in the planning stages for the 2022 Conshohocken Beer Festival now. These things take a lot of time to plan with a number of partners involved, but we’re happy to say we’ve completed the first step of submitting a special event application to Conshohocken Borough and it will be up for a vote at their next council meeting. If you’re interested in showing your support for the event, feel free to attend. It’s open to the public! It will be this Wednesday 4/6 at Borough Hall (400 Fayette St, Conshohocken, PA) starting at 7pm. Hope you’re all as excited as we are!

The CPW Rotary rents the stadium from the Borough of Conshohocken and obtains a special occasion permit from the Pennsylvania Liquor Control Board. MoreThanTheCurve.com produces and markets the event in conjunction with the CPW Rotary (disclaimer). The event is a fundraiser for the CPW Rotary and it allows them to serve and support the community.

The festival was launched in 2014 at A. A Garthwaite Stadium. In 2015, the festival was held at The Proving Grounds, a sports field facility on Conshohocken Road. Between 2016 and 2019, the festival was held at A. A. Garthwaite Stadium. It was not held in 2020 and 2021 due to the pandemic.

A. A. Garthwaite Stadium is the perfect venue for the festival. It is self-contained due to the wall and its location allows for most people to walk to and from the event. Even having held it as close as The Proving Grounds wasn’t the same.

If Conshohocken’s Borough Council were to deny the application, the festival would likely have to seek a new home outside of the borough. Proving Grounds is no longer an option because the natural grass field utilized in 2015 is now artificial turf. There are not many good options nearby and none that would keep it near downtown Conshohocken.

So you loved the festival and want to see it return to A. A. Garthwaite Stadium?

The easiest thing to do if you are a resident or business owner in the borough is to email your representative on the borough council. Simply ask for them to continue allowing the CPW Rotary to rent A. A. Garthwaite Stadium for the Conshohocken Beer Festival. It is important that you do this if you wish to support the festival.

You can also attend the April 6th meeting, however, since this is a workshop meeting, the opportunity to offer public comment does not come prior to the vote. But a big crowd showing up to show support is encouraged and appreciated.

The meeting will be held at the borough all at 400 Fayette Steet at 7:00 p.m.
