Conshohocken Italian Bakery property being reorganized prior to sale. Application on planning commission agenda on February 13th

The Conshohocken Italian Bakery property is on the agenda of Conshohocken’s planning commission on February 13th. The bakery closed due to the retirement at the end of October 2024 after a 51-year run.

The bakery is before the planning commission to reorganize the properties that the family owns under the entity LaFamiglia l, LP. These include the bakery itself and some surrounding properties. LaFamiglia is seeking to consolidate three parcels into one tax parcel and subdivide three parcels.

According to a letter dated December 13, 2024 letter submitted to the borough by LaFamiglia’s attorney, the purpose of the subdivision is to “convey the Bakery property as one parcel to the buyer including the certain portions of 607 Spring Mill Avenue and 613 Spring Mill Avenue which are part of the existing Bakery property.” It is also stated that it seeks to “subdivide 607 Spring Mill Avenue and 613 Spring Mill Avenue to separate the Bakery’s use of the properties from the residential use of the properties.”

The property’s buyer is an entity associated with Angelo’s in South Philly. A new company, Angelo’s Baking Co., will produce bread for the restaurants. No public-facing retail use has been announced.

The planning commission will review and consider making a recommendation to the borough council. The council will make the final determination.
