Conshohocken resident Sharon Marino appointed to fill open seat on Colonial School Board

As MoreThanTheCurve.com reported on December 3rd, Patti Donofrio, who received the most votes in the November 2021 election for the Colonial School Board, decided to not take office. This decision left an open seat and the school district sought applications from the public for consideration to fill the position.

During a special meeting on Thursday, December 16th, the Colonial Board of School Directors voted 7-1 to select Conshohocken resident Sharon Marino to fill a vacancy. The board interviewed 16 candidates over a three-hour period.

From the announcement from the district:

Ms. Marino brings more than 20 years of educational experience from her work in the School District of Philadelphia, where she has served as a teacher, coach, and principal. Her areas of interest and expertise include continuous improvement, family engagement, and equity.

The appointment is for two years. The seat will be up for election (for a two-year term) in 2023.
