Conshohocken’s Deja Evans was named the America East Conference’s Rookie of the Week for helping the University of Albany win twice last week in women’s basketball. Evans, who plays forward, averaged eight points, six rebounds, and two blocked shots in the two games. Her best game came against Stonehill when she had 13 points, seven rebounds and two blocks in 20 minutes.

Evans played high school basketball for two years at Plymouth Whitemarsh High School and then her final two years at Archbishop Wood High School, where she won two state titles.
