Conshohocken’s Fanatics to launch NFT company named Candy Digital

Sports business reporter Darren Rovell tweeted this morning that Fanatics is launching an NFT company called Candy Digital and has in place an exclusive partnership with Major League Baseball. What is an NFT? Very good question. For an explanation click here.

The Executive Chairman of Fanatics, Michael Rubin (pictured at top of article), retweeted Rovell’s tweet without comment. Rubin is a Lafayette Hill native, Plymouth Whitemarsh High School graduate, and has his holding company, Kynetic, based in Conshohocken.

For this company, Rovell reports that Rubin will partner with Gary Vaynerchuk, a media and advertising entrepreneur, and Mike Novogratz, the founder/CEO of Galaxy Digital is financial services and investment management company focused on digital assets, cryptocurrency, and the blockchain technology sector.

The first NFT offered will be of Lou Gehrig’s “Luckiest Man” speech according to Rovell.

Update – While writing this article, Fanatics made a social media post about the new company. In the post, it refers to Candy Digital as the “official digital collectibles partner” of Major League Baseball.
