Attorney Michael Savona, who served as Conshohocken’s solicitor for several years, is scheduled to be sentenced on July 17th for lying to federal investigators (FBI and IRS) during the course of a bribery scandal in Lower Southampton Township (where he also served as the solicitor).
Specifically, Savona admitted to lying about his knowledge of a bribe being paid by a billboard salesperson who worked for a company that was seeking to place a billboard on public land. The scandal has led to several convictions, including a judge who was the ring leader.
Savona’s sentencing has been postponed a few times.
Wonder if he is giving up what might have been going on at other municipalities he worked for?
