Thanks to the community’s support, Conshohocken’s Jefferson Avenue Insurance has officially awarded a $10,000 donation to Philadelphia’s Face to Face Germantown, a local organization dedicated to providing a safe environment and practical tools, which enables the people of the community to confront personal challenges, empower their lives, and fulfill their unique potential.

Philadelphia has the highest poverty rate of any large city in the United States, and Germantown’s poverty levels are 50% higher than that of the city. With one-third of its residents living in deep poverty, it is highly challenging to afford basic food or shelter for those affected. The $10,000 donation will enable Face to Face to serve approximately 1,000 nutritious meals to their community and provide clients with around 50 sessions with a behavioral health specialist, 75 sessions with a social worker, and 50 sessions with an attorney.

Jeff Gallo, Principal at Jefferson Avenue Insurance, originally received a $5,000 donation for Face to Face Germantown thanks to a submission process with Liberty Mutual® and Safeco Insurance® through their 2023 Make More Happen™ Awards. A story of their local partnership was featured on the official Make More Happen microsite, where Jefferson Avenue Insurance had the opportunity to raise an additional $5,000 by conducting a local awareness campaign for the nonprofit. Together with the community, the goal was met increasing the total donation to $10,000 for Face to Face Germantown!

Throughout 2023, Liberty Mutual and Safeco Insurance will select up to 37 independent agents nationwide for a Make More Happen Award donating up to $370,000 to the nonprofits they support. Agencies became eligible for the award by submitting an application and photos demonstrating their commitment to a specific nonprofit.
