How did you come to live and/or work in Conshohocken?
I was born in the Roxborough section of Philadelphia. I moved to W. Conshohocken when I got married. Following my divorce, I moved to the Poconos as I took a job with a biotech company in northern N.J. In 2008, for health reasons, I moved back down to Conshohocken, where I live now. All in all, I’ve been in Conshy for nearly 24 yrs.
What do you do (career wise)?
For years I worked as a research Virologist. The last company I worked with had bio-defense contracts with the government. I’ve worked with most viruses most people don’t even want to think about: West Nile, HIV, HSV2, Small Pox…the list goes on. In 2008 I suffered complete heart block and required a pacemaker…ironically, probably from a viral infection. At that time, I left virology (consult on occasion) and now write full time. I’ve just released my first novel, “Lucifer’s Pommel”, published by Barren Hill Publishing and released (in multiple e-book formats) at www.smashwords.com/books/view/80569 – a 444 page horror novel that takes place in the fictitious town of Banderman Falls, nestled between Conshohocken and Philadelphia. A significant scene actually takes place at a major hotel located at the intersections of Rt. 23 and Matsonford Rd.

What are you involved in outside of work?
At present, not a whole lot. For years, I ran a band up in the Poconos, but those days are sort of behind me. I spend most of my free time working with my two German shepherds or helping take care of my fiancée’s mother, who just lost her husband in January.
What do you love most about Conshohocken?
For me, it’s the small town feel and the neighborliness. I am particularly fond of the fact that I’m so close to the bike trail. Although I don’t bike, I do love to hike…additionally, you can walk to just about anywhere. Conshy is not so sprawling that you can’t hoof it a little. One last thing that I love is the fact that there are two libraries, one in Conshy and one very close in Whitemarsh.
What are your favorite places in Conshohocken?
Wm. Jeans Memorial Library in Whitemarsh and The Conshohocken Free Library. I also like Flanigan’s Boathouse and The Springmill Cafe on Barren Hill Rd. These are my favorites, and some of the others I haven’t had the pleasure of trying yet…but I’ll get to them, that’s for sure.
